Parable of the widow and the unjust judge.
The parable of the widow and the unjust judge in Luke 18:1-8 told us reflects the type of human justice and shows how justice was administered at this time. The widows were marginalized social status, lived in extreme poverty. The judge, who was called upon to administer justice for all, had decided not to meet this woman. However, according to Jesus, this woman never ceased to claim widow justice. She repeatedly insisted that it was served and is due to the insistence that the judge is forced to defend it. The obstinacy of your order to claim his right to be attended achieves justice. That action was accomplished what both claiming: justice. His insistence was able to exasperate the judge and achieve your goal.
rather discouraged and we must imitate the widow before the unjust judge. The tragedy of this is when the Church does not know anything about the unfairness. With such an attitude would be demonstrating that it has lost its raison d'etre: to preach the gospel of Jesus, based on love and justice. His speeches are hollow, meaningless, devoid of identification with the suffering of the people, therefore, can not make an effective and fruitful pastoral.
As a church are left to wonder the following:
- What shall we do with so many cases of social injustice?- How to proclaim that Jesus came to do justice to those who do not?
Fortunately, there are still brothers and sisters in faith who practice righteousness as a vocation. True love of neighbor who does assume the defense of many marginalized by the judges. They anonymously, and they do their work and example give us signs of hope is still possible to do justice.
That at this Christmas time, not only admire the work of the brothers and sisters, but we (as) also engage in true justice where we are. Amen.
